My friend has a virus that seems like a tdl4 and tried to use my computer to clear their hard drive and all that seemed to do was instantly infect my computer. lots of root files and drivers changed around a hidden disk that shouldnt be there files missing and files being there that shouldnt be. Other files are linked so far in that its hard to tell what is what. I am just confused witht his thing.

as soon as i think it is off i restart and its all back on

I am not sure what you have done but, you have nearly all your folders set to display on start up

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Havent really done anything i noticed problems immediately and havent even updated. Took a long time to load after the hard drive was hooked to my computer and my computer said configuring windows.

OK could you now run a fresh OTL scan as before and let me know what the current problems are

Running it now. The last time I started running it my computer did a crash dump.

ok

Could you go Start > All Programs > Startup
Then delete all the elements within that folder
Then run a fresh OTL scan
