Duplicates current VPS udate.

I am new to Ubuntu 8.0.4. First thing I did was downloaded Avast for it. Wow, what a change from my Avast on my XP machines. I know Avast is working, because it say it is already running when I click on launch Avast GUI.

I know it automatically updates.

Question: Why does it duplicate the current updated VPS ever time I open GUI for it.? That is in the Avast Log of course.

Regardless, I am keeping Avast for sure.

I really miss the spinning BALL in the tray.

In fact, avast was not running… it’s only on-demand in Linux, not a resident antivirus.

If you set so… each time it opens the interface.

Good question… it should just detect avast was using the latest vps and does not download it again…

Indeed, no resident, no system tray icon on Linux.

Thanks Tech, I am now more enlightened in regard to Avast/Linux.

You’re welcome.
