During scans, Avast can't find paths that don't exist

I run a scan every week, and each time it returns “Some files could not be scanned.” I get the same error about the same 30 or so paths each time: “Error: The system cannot find the path specified (3)”.
The thing is that these paths don’t even exist, which is why I’m confused why Avast is scanning for them.

There are a bunch, but some are C:\Documents and Settings, C:\ProgramData\Desktop, and a lot under C:\Users like C:\Users\Default\My Documents. Besides for C:\Documents and Settings, the rest are under C:\Users and C:\ProgramData. I cannot find any of them through Windows Explorer.

I use Windows 7 x64. Let me know if more info is needed.
