DynaGen.

Is this even working yet??? I’v heard no news about the new technology last time i heard they where having problems with it. What’s going on with DynaGen is it even active??

DeepScreen and DynaGen are not even active… So many tests prove it is an inactive service. Don’t even say “you cannot trust youtube reviews” This clearly shows Deepscreen not working it should have flagged the files as safe or malicious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEXEwnKOeuA

Thanks for making this topic.

Even I have been wondering about this since quite some time now

Also his sample set seems to be containing lot of adware and PUP crap though I know dyna gen is not up yet.Hopefully, avast team can shed some light on its dead line.

Also the tester is over-exaggerating the result.Avast hardly missed 6 to 7 items including that rootkit which should have been blocked. It was a good result but not up to the mark. The rest of detected files were from his malware pack folder.

I was just so shocked to see DeepScreen not even tell the user the file was safe. Going back to when avast 2014 was still in beta at least DeepScreen flagged file’s as safe now it does Absolutely Nothing.

I would argue that is not correct. It has checked quite a few of my portable apps programs that are run from a USB flash drive, correctly brought up the information popup whilst it ran them in the “sandbox”, found them to be OK, automatically restarted them, and automatically set up exceptions for them, so from then on they have run normally. My view is that Deepscreen is working as intended.

Are these two important Features going to end up like the Behavioral shield? Also about 2 weeks ago i find avast to be adding a new product in called “GrimeFighter” Shouldn’t avast be trying to fix the issues with their security products before jumping into something new? This really infuriated‎ me when these important features where promised before the actual release of the 2014 product. Also Dynagen is advertised on the avast! web site which is False advertising it does not exist…

My view is that Deepscreen is working as intended.
It is most Certainly not. Deepscreen is suppose to be flagging files as good or bad. similar to a reputation system of files. This is what was promised before the release. I trust my tests as well as other user's and you can clearly see DeepScreen for now is Inactive.

How much more proof can i give? Post #305 RejZoR http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=354637&page=13

On one hand i’m impressed by what avast! is offering for free, but then again i’m slightly disappointed, because they don’t fully utilize its potential.

Lack of seeing DeepScreen active more often and still not ready DynaGen makes it a bit worse than it could be. We had great hopes for it, but avast! has a (in a way) nasty habit of adding functions that aren’t actually functioning from the get go, but they always need few months to mature.

It was this way with Network Shield, with Auto Sandbox, the mentioned Evo-Gen also took quite a while to become reality, now DeepScreen and DynaGen. The main problem with this is that they create the hype and there aren’t (yet) the expected results. Only part which totally disappointed me was Behavior Shield, which was never what we hoped it would be (behavior blocker).

... you can clearly see DeepScreen for now is Inactive.

OK, everyone is entitled to their own view, and I’m happy with the way DeepScreen is working for me.
Out of interest, two screen shots of DeepScreen, obviously not “inactive”

Still it’s not working like it should their servers go on and Offline. and Dynagen is not active.

From advertising for Avast 2014 (http://www.avast.com/internet-security)

“Not just a marketing phrase! Our DynaGen-powered antivirus streams hundreds of tiny real-time updates to your PC’s virus database each day, to catch new malware faster. Its decisions are based on artificial intelligence that works inside the algorithm responsible for analyzing suspicious files.”

So according to this, DynaGen is in use in the preparation of the streamed updates that are being sent out. Certainly the streaming updates are working.

I will say this again…It’s not working and every advanced user that is able to actually download malware files to test it’s functioning knows. Also their are numerous amounts of threads on this forums and on wilders asking avast why Deepscreen and Dynagen are not working or are in a partially working state. The deal is it’s not in beta and it’s functions are not working.

Here is a good showing for avast:

Kenny they are not useless features…Dyna-gen Is NOT working yet…the developers must be still working on it as vlk said its a long standing project for them.It will be up when its ready.Vlk doesnt ever never make fake promises and this technology will sure come to life in near future.

DeepScreen is working, i tested it with some virussign folders full of malware and ITS BLOCKING FILES, but it
still needs improvement.

Dyna-Gen has been removed from Avast for now cause it was making problems. Will be implemented when its fixed.

Deepscreen is working here!

@ True Indian Those links are almost two months old. Since then avast has improved deepscreen with further releases.
The latest, still in beta, has even more improvements.

@ kenny556 Once deepscreen allows a file/application through as safe the exclusion is automatically made.
Obviously deepscreen is working.

@ Steve Winderlich How do you know avast has yanked/discontinued Dyna-Gen?

I read it somewhere in the forum here some time ago.

Its not discontinued, they are just working on it cause there were some problems with it.
