Aggressive ads in my opinion have the total reverse effect. Rather than attract these seem to repel.
That said we don’t know if Sophos will have a freemium approach in this product and also have ads.
I’ve only read the article and scrutinized the review. I"m not planning on testing it. I’ve also passed the link to this
topic onto one of my contacts at Avast.
It doesn’t work if you use Opera (and likely several other browsers)
It doesn’t install on XP (and perhaps Vista)
I’m not sure about the other browsers but it works well with IE, Sophos Home Free is only for Win 7 and above.
Browsing is just slightly slower with the first release as of yet but there are no advertisements what so ever the only downside is many of the settings are accessed via the browser which is good if you are maintaining up to 10 systems though a bit of a pain just for a single system, very impressed with it so far though.
