I noticed a message on a friends Gmail that it was scanned by Avast. I checked my email scanner as I have never had any info from it. It has never scanned anything. I have several AOL accounts and a G Mail. I cant see where to set it up and, frankly, I dont know how to set it up. HELP PLZ!!!
how do you read your mail … in your web browser, or using a mail client?
avast Mail shield only work if you use a mail client, if you use your browser (web mail) then it is scanned as any web traffic by web shield

your Gmail account is already protected, google protect all Gmail accounts with postini spam/virus filter using two AV engines from Authentium and McAfee
i guess AOL have spam/virus scanner on there mail server also

I am still baffled that there is no page for the Internet Security. I searched and searched and finally saw the little arrow, also under your post, and clicked it and its not anywhere. I feel like I am the only one with that thang! Is it that unpopular?
In my settings I clicked something OFF about being seen on here but if I turn it back on could someone message me somehow? I dont see anything here for that. I wont even tell you how much I hate FB. Posted at 1:18AM in the Lone Star State of the USA.

You are already in the Internet Security section of the forum, this section is for all versions even though it’s not specifically stated at the top of the forum.
I think you may be talking about “allow users to email me” leave that unticked, or are you talking about “show users my online status” which should be ticked default.

When I clicked my link to get here it took me to an old looking page that was all topics about the FREE/blabla bla versions. I used the search box for Int. Sec. and got nothing. I got on the new subjects by blind, dumb luck it seems. It would be nice if it said Int. Sec. was covered too - especially on the pull down list!!!

It is just that with the Inclusions the new avast Premier product, they have modified the Title of the sub forum (it is for all avast products on the Windows platform) keeping AIS in the title would make it pretty long Avast Free/Pro/Avast Internet Security/Premier.
I guess they should have abbreviated it to AIS - Avast Free/Pro/AIS/Premier
