Hi. I’m just wondering why, unlike other antivirus programs, Avast! doesn’t place an icon on the toolbar of Microsoft Outlook. By the same token, can someone tell me if outgoing e-mail scanned by Avast! contains a ‘message’ to the effect that the e-mail has in fact been scanned by Avast! (as do other antivirus programs, e.g., NOD32)?

You can configure avast Outlook plugin to add a clean note into the received/sent messages.
Also, in your email header will have the lines X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS XXXXXX-X, XX/XX/2007), Inbound message and X-Antivirus-Status: Clean (Right click the message, choose Properties and Details).
