After installing Avast 4 I could not see my emails in Internet Explorer. I use Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista to see my emails, but some times I need to use Internet Explorer because they are formated to be seen on Internet Explorer. But now when I need to see the email in IE it doesn’t work. What is the problem?
What is your firewall ?
There should be no differences in how avast treats firefox, opera or IE when viewing webmail, so if another browser is able to view/access it (even if not optimally displayed).
What is the email location, Hotmail, Yahoo, what ?
Is it secure email (https) and how do you log-in ?
What exactly is the problem are there any errors displayed ?
I’m not using a special firewall. I’m only using Windows Vista’s firewall.
My emails are located at Yahoo, Google and Hotmail. And I have no problem until installing avast.
There is no error. I just push the “exibir no navegador” (display message thought browser) command and nothing hapens.
Did you have another AV in the past ?
Yes. I was using AVG antivirus.
Did you uninstalled AVG trought the Control Panel Install/Uninstall and after that with AVG Remover Tools ?
AVG Remover download here: http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-tools
Thank Tech i was about to give him if he was really needed it… But well thank anyway
Now I have used the AVG remover. But it still doesn’t work. Should I reinstall Avast?
I suggest an installation from the scratch:
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
- Boot.
- Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation. If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there.
- Boot.
- Download, save and install the latest avast! version. It will be good to accept the boot time scanning on next boot.
- Boot.
- Check and post the results.
If its didnt work what he said then you can try to use Repair of Avast! in the Install/Unintall Control Panel.
I tried everytihng and it still doesn’t work. I’ll retur to AVG antivirus. Thanks.
I think remains of AVG were there and they were messing avast installation :
I’ll let this problem to the ones that have the knowledge and time to try. I just want my computer working correctly.
