as the lead dev of our BP/BPP products I am proud to announce the first public “early beta” of our new Business Protection product.
In this post you will find the links to the release notes (be sure to read those, a few things still don’t work in the product as you’d expect), install guide, demo licence and to all the installation package that you may try out.
Be careful not to install this in a production environment, as a few things don’t work quite well and a later upgrade to the final version may not be so seamless as one would like, but other than that, try to give this product hard time and post feedback here, please!
Please feel free to comment on how you like the Administration Console and BP in general. If you think you’ve found an error or have a valuable suggestions, please report here. Or, you can use a special e-mail address bp.feedback@avast.com for all your feedback.
I asked the same question, they aren’t interested. I was told back in November they would make a connector for v6 to work with the existing ADNM. That was the last i heard. Vlk doesn’t respond to my mails and sales don’t have a clue whats going on.
I think the 200 workstation limitation is related only to hardware configuration of management server…
It is possible that console to scale very well on a quad xeon intel cpu with 8 or 16 gigs of ram.
The “IS” version is not released with this beta. It will be a part of the BPP (Business Protection Plus) product, the attached demo licence is only BP.
MSI feature is currently in internal testing, not part of the public beta.
The client obtains the licence from the server when it connects.
we’ve just re-checked this platform in our QA department and it is possible to install the released package on this platform. See the release notes to see explanation of what appears as “hang”.
As the release notes state, there will be a better progress monitoring in future releases. In the meantime, if you think the installation stopped progressing, please observe "c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Administration Console\mirror" and it’s subfolders, where mirror is being build. The download operation takes quite long (depending on the speed of your internet connection). Depending on the speed of your internet connection, you should see updates to the above folder/subfolders.
Sorry, I am not sure what that means. Also, for the amount of money we spent on Avast, would like to get some real answers from them. After all these years, starting to get a bit disappointed in this company.
One question: if we have one client with 150 computers on his network and this client later will double his number of station he will need to fallback to old and unpractical version of ADNM?
Why this limitation of exactly 200 stations?
