Ebay VIRUS??

Ebay Virus? When I went to the site map page I went to click on BIG TICKET and Avast popped up with warning Virus.

8/15/2005 7:21:48 AM SYSTEM 452 Sign of “VBS:Malware [Script]” has been found in “http://pages.ebay.com/buy/bigticket/\PxBC8E” file.

here’s the web page
http://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html?ssPageName=h:h:smap:US

It appears to be false positive…

So not to worry ?

Avast support email:

"Dobry den,
Hello,

Some script has probably same look like some malware.

You can add ebay.com to your exclusion list. Right click on avast!
icon next to the clock, click ‘On-Access Protection Control’, in
appeared window click ‘Details…’ and select ‘Web shield’ provider.
Click on ‘Customize’ and in pop-up switch to the ‘Exceptions’ tab.
There click ‘Add…’ and write ‘*.ebay.com’."

Nothing to say that Ebay can’t be hacked though and I believe it has been in the past - so no - I don’t think I’ll be adding that to the exclude list.

Hey RejZoR - GREAT security-ops webpage - thanks, I’ll bookmark it.

Scaned it with Dr.Web plugin for Firefox.

I wonder whats the fuss with all these false posiives and i’m becoming more and more worried. I have never seen ANY antivirus with some many false positives which is using ONLY signatures. I understand heuristics that they produce false positives to some degree, but hnestly said this is rediculous. Soory if you don’t agree with me,but from what i see this, it’s very bad…
