As you have posted in the General sub forum, we/I have no idea what Avast Program you are using ?

Nor do you give any details of what Failed ?

Without this is is rather difficult to give any advice.

So here is my best guess if, Avast Antivirus (Free, Premium).

AVAST REPAIR

  • Have you tried an Avast Repair ?
  • AvastUI > Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > Repair APP - Restart after completion.
