Email address not valid

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post on the Avast forums, so please pardon me if I’m not following the appropriate forum etiquette. I’m having a problem activating my Avast Free software. I’ve used Avast for many years and never had a problem; however, I just installed Avast on a new computer of mine and tried registering it with my email address (by connecting it to my Avast account). When I enter my email address I get the following message, “The entered email address is not valid.” If anyone has any idea why this could be happening, I would greatly appreciate any input you may have.
