I’ve setup the email alert for SMTP and did a test. The mail came back to me with an invalid address error. I’ve noticed that there is 1 or 2 extra characters attached at the end of the email address making it invalid. (Ex. mymail@yahoo.comA) These extra characters seem to be in a form of ‘A’, ‘cA’, or ‘,A’. There may be more, just all that I noticed.
The email alert works fine on version 4.7. Please fix.
I am seeing the same problem. Wireshark cap shows additional characters X\236\027 at the end of the SMTP Command: RCPT TO: address, so it formed like this <address@email.comx\236\027>
Is this a restriction put on the free / home addition? I’m sure this feature worked before. Running XP Pro SP2 latest updates.
Thanks Tech.
I was hoping the feature wasn’t disabled. I use Outlook for my email client, although I don’t see how that matters. My Dad uses Avast on his home PC with the same email issues. I have no other problems sending email. Maybe an SSL issue?
