Email and IM with Avast Home 4.7

hi to all …newbie here.
i have loaded avast home 4.7 and thus far am very happy with this /sw. however there are a couple of things that i would like to know if anybody could help me with please…

1. My email of any size other than that of basic text, outgoing and incoming appears to take some time to download/scan into outlook express…which reminds me of the finicky MAcfee (which i quickly uninstalled in favor of Norton 2006, which was ok until my subscription was up)

2. my msn messenger has started dropping out internitently since loading avast…not sure it is coincidence as another pc in the house is experiencing the same problems with avast on, though network issues can never be ruled out unless monitored for extensive periods…

has anybody had these problems? is anybody aware of them or able to point me in the right direction to a possible resolution?

It’s difficult to measure but, anyway, you need to be sure, completely sure that both MAcfee and Norton have gone away.
Both manufactures have standalone tools to uninstall their products. Specially with email, interaction of leftovers (files, registry keys, etc.) could make the difference.

Is there anything relevant on avast logs?
