I am running latest version of Avast 6.x Pro.
I use Outlook 2007 with Win7.
After upgrade (clean install) to Avast 6.x, a note popped up indicating that using encryption on my email send/receive would inhibit Avast email scanner, and furthermore that Avast email scanner would provide the encryption instead.
This only happened on one of 4 computers that I use when I upgraded Avast, so it struck me as peculiar.
Was this a bogus message or a true Avast message?
Should I turn off email encryption in outlook?
Does Avast really encrypt email send/receive, even if it is turned off in Outlook?
(I am not talking about sending encrypted messages, but using a secure/encrypted connection to my email server)
Any insight would be helpful.
