Email Help - *** SPAM *** being added to subject line

Hi,

Could someone please tell me why I keep getting “*** SPAM " added to subject line for almost all my emails I send out from MS Outlook? Will the recipient see the " SPAM ***” in the subject line when they receive it?

Thanks

Ismail

Most likely avast detects something in your mails that is often used in spam mails.

Yes, the recipient will see it.

You can enable/disable/change the behavior in the mail shield settings.

I tried looking for the setting but cannot find it. I can see a setting for an email that may have a virus (labelled VIRUS).

This is very frustrating as almost all my email replies are ‘normal’ and to people I know, sometimes with an attachment but never would I class any of them as SPAM. Surely the AVAST product has to be more intelligent this is?

If not, maybe I should cancel my subscription to try a different option?

PS. When I check my outbox in MS Outlook. Sometimes I am seeing the same email TWICE, one email has the SPAM inserted into the subject line and the other one is the exact same email but without the SPAM note.

In any case I have now found he setting and have disabled it, however I am very disappointed with this as it is poor.

Sorry for the late response. (problems with my ISP)

Good to hear you have found the setting.

Seeing the mail twice in the outbox is a indication that there is something wrong.
This shouldn’t happen at all.

Do you have (or had) a other spam filter/checker installed ?
Have you performed a clean installation of the latest avast version to see if that solved the problem ?
