Email not working after installing Avast 8 (Thunderbird)

Hi,

I’ve updated to Avast 8. My Thunderbird email is now not working for one email account. The other started working after I deleted my ssl accounts in the mailshield ssl section. I am also getting the pop up messages about invalid certificates popping up over and over on the account that’s not working now (was getting them on the other one as well, but that is now working fine). Both accounts have ssl enabled again in their account settings as per the instructions.

Latest version of Thunderbird.

I’ve followed the directions on the page about exporting and importing the root certificate into the Thunderbird certificates section exactly. The avast certificate is now in there as it should be. But, the email for the one account is still crazy.

Help!!! This is a very important account for me. I’ve tried restarting, and reopening the email several times also.

What should I do? (I should add that I’m not very good at all this ‘techie’ stuff).
