Hi: When Avast detects a virus in email it tells me. But it also sends an email to my inbox. During installation I remember something about this but can’t now find where or how to turn the extra notification off. Thanks, Donald
Start Avast > Menu > Settings > Alerts
as can be read in the help file.
start > programs > Avast > help > tasks > tasks configutation pages > alerts
Hi Eddy
I’ve tried this feature, but with no success. In the alerts-settings I did indicate the smtp-server-address (smtp.xx.yy). After pressing the button “Test” comes a message “warning could not be sent”. Something is wrong in my settings, but I don’t know what exactly. Can you give me a hint?
Thanks and regards
housi
Hi: Thank you for the reply but you only refer to the help pages which don’t help! I know how to get to the Alerts section. All are turned off but I still get an immediate email telling me what the popup has just done. As I said I vaguely remember doing something, e.g. set send an email, when setting Avast up. Not knowing exactly what it did I think I set it. You seem to suggest that this is dealt with in the Alerts Section - but none are set. Thanks, Donald
Check the configuration of the mail provider in the on-access control panel (Outlook/Exchange or Internet mail, depending on what email client you are using) under the advanched tab. Disable “show detailed info on performed action”
Is that what you ment?
And I suggest you spend some time to read the help file and get familiar with the options/settings Avast is offering the user.
