email problem

I am having problems with one of my email accounts. Technical support from Bell identified that Avast was preventing my computer from sending and receiving email since an Avast update. I did not have this problem before. It has been about two months. I have 3 email accounts and 2 of them are fine. The Bell account is my office account that I also use on my home computer. When I open Windows Live Mail 2011, at home, I get a popup asking for my Bell account password. I enter it and it just keeps popping up again. When I cancel it, I get an error that indicates my password is wrong. If I turn Avast off, everything works fine.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum:
Some basics please: What Avast/ What version/ What OS. Any Email Client? Outlook etc?

i think i would try a avast repair and see if that changes anything

I was thinking about the SSL settings. Often and issue.

As I mentioned, the email client is Window Live Mail 2011. Avast version is 7.0.1466. I am running Windows 7. Help is appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried a ‘Repair’ of Avast as Pondus suggested in prior post?
