I recently updated to the latest version and now the tag (avast! Antivirus: Inbound message clean etc)
which is normally in the body of the email now becomes an attachement on some emails. Why is it that some are different to others, it really does not make any sense.
Are you talking about HTML or Text emails?
Which is your email program?
Is there any particular thing on the emails that this weird thing happens?
By the way, as far I know, last update of avast changed nothing related to clean notes…
Mine are working.

I use outlook 2003. Not sure about your question regarding HTML or text. I recieved an email from the same customer on the 25-6-07 and the tag (avast! Antivirus: Inbound message clean etc) was in the body of the email. The one i recieved 15-8-07, from the same customer, the tag was placed as an attachment (in the form of text) along with a PDF file.

Sometimes, something could avoid to ‘add’ anything to the email body and then avast adds as an attachment.
Can you post more about that particular email (which domain it comes from, if there is these lines X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS XXXXXX-X, XX/XX/2007), Inbound message and X-Antivirus-Status: Clean in the header of it (Right click the message, choose Properties and Details), etc.?
Which is your operational system? XP?
Nothing new here … nothing to do with your email or your OS.
All to do with the way the email was constructed by the email client of the sender.
See this and see if helps to explain … if not then you will have to give me some extracts from your emails to explain it.
