If there weren’t a reasonable supply of idiots then they wouldn’t send them out.
I’m totally amazed that anyone falls for ‘any’ of these scams, they are usually riddled with grammatical errors, don’t use Dear Valued Customer or any such non-personalised opening.
Not only are most of these non-personal emails but they are sent to multiple addressees, so you may not even be the person in the To: address. They are just so easy to spot I can’t believe anyone falls for this cr4p.
Hi DavidR,
That is why the first line of protection consists of two major things (three actually). First, watch what and where you click, and especially what and where NOT to click. Second, keep all your System and Third Party Software fully updated and patched. Third feel secure using avast,

Hovering your mouse over the descriptive link will also reveal the website where this link will take you.
It’s usually a dead giveaway. ![]()
Yes, there really are so many indication that this is a scam, but people just don’t bother, they don’t think twice (or think at all) before clicking on links in unsolicited email.
For most the only time they become aware of computer security is when an infection stops them using their computer for days or costs them money to get cleaned.
