i am using ás always avast Home. My Question is does Avast Email Scanner works with Windows Live Mail it seem he do not scans incomming messages and no icon appears.
Which email are you using? GMail?
Any email that uses SSL connection?
Is avast Internet Mail provider at the default settings? Have you changed anything?
Edited: sorry, I’ve missed Windows Mail with Windows Live Mail.
The Internet Mail scanner should be scanning regular POP/SMTP accounts that use port 110/25 with Windows Live Mail.
If you are using any Hotmail accounts with WLM then they will connect using a MS proprietary connection method called DeltaSync (used to be also known as WebDav with Outlook or Outlook Express). This is a special form of http and these connections cannot be scanned by avast.
Also as Tech has mentioned any accounts using secure connections (SSL/TLS) with WLM cannot be directly scanned by the Internet Mail provider.
No i am using Yahoo without SSl in Outlook Express i have no problems but in Windows Mail don’t works the mail scanner.
How are you accessing Yahoo … are you using a regular Yahoo POP server with port 110? If you are possibly using Yahoo.com with YPops or FreePops to access it then there is a different issue.
am using regular Yahoo POP server with port 110 but avast don’t want to scan the mails in windows live mail but in outlook express works. But i don’ use oe anymore it to old.
