Email Shield error, recreated SSL_connect error 336031996

I’ve had some problems one month ago with Email Shield error, recreated: SSL_connect error 336031996 that I couldn’t fix so I did a format(time too anyway) reinstalling and setting up Thunderbird and than Outlook Express was a Nightmare. Avast was very aggressive when setting up email accounts Avast was freaking out :cry: because our email server doesn’t use SSL or other encryption so Avast kept on over riding my manual commands and searching for what it(Avast)thought it should be :smiley: I did find a fix I Stopped Email Shield bingo I could sent email.

I have updated Avast to 5.0.677 Turning on Email Shield the error returns, SSL_connect error 336031996

Recreated SSL_connect error 336031996. With Thunderbird 3.1.3

I would like to be using Email Shield what can I do ???

Hi Pondus thanks for your post I would say that’s a negative.

EDIT: Sorry That did fix my problem Pondus.
I went to Email Shield–> Advance Settings and manually reset my settings. :o
