I need the email signature gone NOW. I have important business to conduct on Gmail and the email sig makes me look like a grandpa.
Don’t fing tell me to go to General Options or Core shields or whatever… I DID THAT. When I installed Avast, I specifically chose NOT to install the Mail Shield because it’s a s show and always has been. Even without Mail Shield installed, the email signature has been popping up. I just installed Mail Shield NOW in order to uncheck the signature option… but it’s already unchecked. So I checked it and unchecked it. Test emails to myself in Gmail STILL show the signature.
Whose d*** do I suck to get rid of this abomination? I’m 2 inches from uninstalling and telling everyone I know to never trust Avast again. This is malware-level annoyance.
sorry this is a little bit tricky. please install the Mail shield component via Troubleshooting->add components, then restart PC go to the shield settings as Bob suggested, uncheck the email signatures and then uninstall the mail shield (or just turn it off)
I had to restart the computer twice in order to activate mail shield after installing it. I just tested it and no signature.
Sending an email signature by default when mail shield is NOT EVEN INSTALLED, let alone TURNED ON is incredibly infuriatingly bad design. Not allowing the user to turn off the email signature until the mail shield is installed is unforgivable. As soon as I have time, I’m looking for an alternative and never recommending Avast again.
