Email Signature

Okay Avast, I was somewhat annoyed by the email signature when I first noticed it, but couldn’t find out how to disable it in gmail at the time… No big deal. So I continued to use my email, but what I didn’t realize right away is that it was taking emails I typed up from my primary email and sending them by one of my spammy emails I used to prevent clutter.

Now, if you are going to sneak something in that I don’t recall explicitly authorizing, at least have the courtesy to make sure the implementation is flawless. I have been sending professional communications using the wrong email account with a silly name that’s meant to be reserved for spam.

It is off now. Please disable this feature altogether or provide instructions to the end user the first time it is used on how to disable it. I really don’t mind the free advertisement so much - good AV, good price, I want you guys to pay your bills and keep it up - hence me letting it ride for a while. But you need to fix the linked accounts issue before you make free advertisement a standard feature. I try to be aware of all the extra check boxes when installing or reinstalling, but it seems like I missed this one or saw it and didn’t think anything of it.

The sticky in this forum worked, I just wanted someone at avast to know that it may not be implementing the way they or their customers would like.
