Email Trojan warning ...

This is a warning about a currently circulating email that leads the unsuspecting recipient to a site that will try to download a trojan. There are several subject lines. Please read the link below for more information.

Charley, why not start one thread with your posts like this one instead of polluting the board with many threads?

Edit: Please disregard my previous remark, I probably misunderstood your intentions with your choice of words. :-\

Best Regards…

Well, I rarely start new threads so I do not understand the objection. ???

In the 5 years I have been on this forum, I have started only 73 topics.

I am sorry to be polluting the forum with information about an email trojan that is relatively new and uses a current subject to “hook” the unsuspecting. :-X

Hi…

Please don’t be, I appreciate the concern you showed for others in posting the link.

May God Bless you!

I think that we may be up to a point misreading the intention. Having known Eddy and his style for a while I don’t believe that he is putting the point exactly as some are interpreting it, but Eddy is a big boy and well capable of looking after himself.

But for what it is worth is what I think is suggested.

There are a number of semi-permanent non-sticky topics, like the >> Updates <<, Interesting Software and System News and the Interesting topic to name three.

So why not have a similar Topic called, Current email Trojans/Exploits or words to that effect and add new posts to this topic thereby collating them into one location.

This would also serve to make them easier to find and be a useful resource for forum members to see just how the social engineering seeks to trick you, oh and it would cut down on pollution (sorry I just couldn’t help my self ;D)

No problem, David … I understand and I am not mad at Eddy neither.

No often than I make new threads, mine would quickly be “buried” in the forums anyway even if all in one thread.

That topic could become like the other ones I mentioned, contributions/new posts by other forums members so you wouldn’t be on your own ;D

Sorry for the confusion/misunderstanding Charley.
You and I (as well as some others) are “oldtimers” on this webboard.
I know you mean it well and what I ment was more like:

Why not start 1 thread named “Charley’s security warnings” (or something like that) and post warnings like you posted in this thread there. A thread without discussions, just warnings of new malware, scams etc.
