Email works but web connectivity Lost

I have had serious problems with web connections since updating Internet Security
Program version 2015.10.0.2208

I can browse the web but it appears that Facebook or Pinterest browsing is causing me to be disconnected from the web. Avast also loses connection but I can sometimes continue on a forum but that too fails in time. I have to keep rebooting to get it all back. It failed when I tried to post a reply on this forum earlier.

I can still send and receive mail after the failure and use a VPN network but the web is a no go.

I have now repaired Avast but still am losing the web.
Hope I can send this!

  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Win 7 32 bit service pack1
No other security other than windows firewall (tried disabling that but no effect)
Have been using Avast for approx 10 years

It appears not social media networks - even with browser unopened access eventually gets blocked. Avast cannot update. I have run scans

  1. Download Avast Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

I am not sure I am getting the setup file complete. Although I think I got it on third try
Can you confirm 182,280KB is correct size?

I get this (NTFS): 178 MB (186.654.536 Bytes)

Will now deliberately go offline and get on with the uninstall/reinstall

Wheeeeeeee! All running as it should. Web pages refresh is now FAST. I have just completed a remote assistance session with a customer. Perfect!
