Is there anyway to stop the Iframe suspicious message error coming up on emails, since i recieve from friends about 60 emails a day which this comes up with and we know the emails arnt infected as they are scanned at the senders end also its really annoying me.
The iFrame tag is normally used in web pages and is a very powerful tool it can import data into the frame, alternatively it can run a program for good or evil. So in an email it can leave an exploitable entry point and that is why the Heuristics of the email scanner flags it as Suspicious. In emails it is often used for delivering adverts, but could be used to import malicious content.
But, Yes, you can do something about it add the remote iframe address to the Permitted URLs. Internet Mail, Customize, Heuristics, Permitted URLs, see image, you need to know where the iframe gets its data from.
I think David’s procedure is safer. Anyway, if you really want to disable it, just edit the Heuristic tab of settings of Internet Mail provider (if you use Outlook, Windows Mail or Thunderbird) and/or Outlook plugin (if you use MS Outlook).
Customize button will give you the options for iFrame.
i dont get what u mean by customise in outlook, i use Outlook 2007.
Whilst the image differs from the Outlook/Exchange provider in avast, the procedure is the same. Having selected the provider as in my image (left column), click the Customize button and then the Heuristics tag, you will need to scroll right to see that tag and to get the Permitted URLs active you may need to increase the slider to High or Custom, also shown in my image.
Rather than having to either choose to ignore all email iframe warnings or having to click on continue each time, why can’t that particular URL be allowed to open without the warning?
Each time it pops up I click on Permitted URL and receive the following message:
iframe> tag found, it may be dangerous
Sender: Roaman’s - Roamans@email.roamans.com
Recipient: kathy@amazingandersons.com
Subject: Your fashion refund! Take 20% off your order
Target of remote iframe:
(You can permit them using “Permitted URLs” button)
www.imiclk.com
List updated successfully…
I checked and the URL is listed in the permitted list. However, I continue to receive the same error/warning message everytime, for emails from Roaman’s - Roamans@email.roamans.com.
Why doesn’t the permitted list work like it says it will???
Thanks
Because that isn’t the domain of the remote iframe, that is an email address of the sender and not where the data is imported into the iframe from, you will have to look at the code of the email (message source) and se where the data comes from.
