emails not be scanned

I use Mozilla for my email client. I am a new user. Avast does not appear to be scanning my emails in or out. I know that I received to different attachments with a .zto - can’t be good. I jsut deleted and emptied the trash???
I have looked at accounts and preferences and checked everything I thought I should.
What am I doing wrong ???

Did you run the Mail Protection Wizard? (from Start Menu > avast! antivirus) and choose to protect all account even that ones created in the future?

Are you using any spam killer? :wink:

I did run the mail protection wizard and i had checked that. I don’t have any spam killer…now what? Anyone have any ideas? I really like this Mozilla and would hate to stop using it but was told Avast was the best antivirus for this .

Avast also doesn’t work for Thunderbird but will for outlook express.

Moxie, why don’t you try searching the forums for ‘Thunderbird’ and ‘Mozilla’. You will find your answer… Sorry but I use just OE :-\

Negative! It does work with Thunderbird.

I’m sure it does. That is what everyone is saying. They are defending the product and that makes me want to use it all the more. But no one is giving me step-by-step instructions on how to configure it to scan my emails. I have configured everything I can in both programs.
