I saw the Avast Emergency updater in the Task manager on my laptop today and last night. Has there been any Emergency Updates released or was it checking for any Emergency Updates?
It is there for updates that are “needed” prior to new full code releases.
A good example was a issue/conflict with MS Security Updates back in November 2014 so Avast sent a quick update affecting a file or two.
Bottom line, it is there for your protection…leave it.
