Will it run on my PC?

It’s a popular myth that you shouldn’t run two antivirus programs at the same time. We have spent considerable time building Emsisoft Anti-Malware in a way that makes it compatible with almost all other antivirus programs!

Why Using Multiple Antivirus Programs is a Bad Idea http://blog.kaspersky.com/multiple-antivirus-programs-bad-idea/

however, if they say it will run …

Working with computers since 1983, I can ensure you that it is not a myth at all.
If 2 av’s have enabled real time scanning, the least they will do is slowing down a system.
It is really not hard to understand.
Each file is scanned twice and that means more system resources are used then really needed.

Although quiet rare, there are files/applications that don’t like to be used by multiple processes at the same time.
This can cause all kinds of problems.

Two av’s running in real time means they also constantly are scanning each other.
Causing things to slow down and there is no need for it.

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to clarify some misinformation here.

Here’s a quote from the same user

“Emsisoft Pro offers a full anti-malware solution which you can run alongside your favorite antivirus as extra protection without conflicts. Compatibility with other security products is constantly tested”

Most of us here would recommend Malwarebytes if you want to run an additional Malware scanner.
Remember, Avast already does an excellent job of detecting Malware.
