Hi,
first of all, I’d like to thank programmers for this beautiful free antivirus!
Here’s my problem: I use Emule MorphXT. When I close it, it seems that Avast starts scanning every single file I have in emule’s shared folder. Having 25GB of stuff, Avast takes long time to finish that task, and during that my pc becomes very slow.
Is there any reason why Avast should scan all those files on closing Emule?
I use Avast, MorphXT 8.6 on W2KSP4.
I have minor problem with P2P shield blocking delay when changing MorphXT settings,
but I have never seen such Avast behavior like scanning all shares.
Note that I moved from Win98SE, sharing shared files on W98partition.
So my shares are outside from W2K own Emule directory.
I see no reason for that and avast does not scan all my shared files. Anyway, I don’t have many shared files…
But, maybe, it’s because you’re using emule in a non-privilegiate user (if I remember, there is an option to ‘logon’ as other user than the one you’re using, generally with administration rights). Can you change back this option and see what you get?
Not really an avast! issue, but rather eMule design. On eMule closing it will flush disk buffers to disk (lots of disk accessing), send all clients “quit” message (that you went offline), save contacts and all sorts of other stuff.
I guess that pretty much depends on how much memory you have, which CPU you use and how fast is your HDD. Swaping data from memory to pagefile just makes things worse…
