Endpoint Protection: Windows 8 and new version

Hello!

We use Avast Endpoint Protection in our version. I have two questions:

  1. Can it work on Windows 8 Professional (7.0.1455)?
  2. I see that free version is supported Windows 8 and have more other features (best speed, stability and so on). When it is possible to update via Small Business Administration? Will it upgrade automatically?

The current 1455 build does work on Windows 8. You can not administer the free version via the console, but if you have the business client installed then it can be automatically updated when a newer engine build is released.

Thanks. But why the free version has a new version (faster and with support for Windows 8), and for business users not?

business users expect more stability in the product.
Releasing the newest version out in the world will deliver stability issues to be solved and then that can be incorporated in the business line.

Thats my philosophy, Avasts philosophy im not sure but must be touching the same…
