Engine Server maxing out CPU

the AVAST engine server is maxing out the CPU to 100%

  • How do I see what is causing this or what this is doing.

also I don’t understand how to insert an Image I can’t seem to paste one here…

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…? only AVAST has ever been installed on this PC.

  1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

I followed the instructions and the CPU load is consitantly around 8% for everything running on the system.

Sometimes reinstalling or repairing really does help solve the issue.
