I told you here in the forum about protection against Super Cookies: BetterPrivacy, I introduced you to SafeCache and SafeHistory, now the ultimate add-on to protect your privacy against the intrusion of search engines, generating data to confuse the profilers, leechers, and those that sell where you don’t profit!
Deceive search engines to protect user privacy. Queries are generated using personalized keywords and clicks are randomly simulated on non-sponsored results.
It is not paranoia. Same story with the Super or Flash cookies. Were you aware that secretly behind your back your click stream was analyzed and others profit from things you apparently did (depending on the person behind that machine of course)? Did you know you were being tracked behind your back with an unique identification being able to restore even cookies you deleted from the client side = your side?
It is also possible through devious profiling means to analyze your browser history and cache to launch up ads based on these data, and we can only hope this was done anonymously. Google is into this trade big time, and even developing new tools to perfect this. There is no bonus for you there. It could be far-fetched to say but that is why Google customization was kept from Fx by default, and ABP does a poor job at keeping Google at bay, because who would anger the hand that feeds them. Now some privacy concerned at Stanford university developed some add-ons to make it a bit harder for the greedy profilers and turn a bit of privacy back into your own hands. Is that paranoia. No, that is democracy, and striving towards a bit more equilibrium between user and commercial morons.
I did not have any problems with SafeCache and SafeHistory in Fx 3.0.
