Enhanced.htm not found

I installed Avast! Pro in folder “C:\Winmgmnt\Security\Avast!”.

Yet Every time I switch to the Enhanced mode, I get an error message the Enhanced.htm cannot be found – but it is there.

I tried looking for where the setup string is to see if it might be incorrect, but couldn’t find the setup strings.

How can I fix this error?

Chuck Billow

Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.

If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

What language version of avast! did you install?
Can you open the Enhanced.htm file in your browser (specifically, in IE)?

Igor/Tech:

I just uninstalled, and then re-installed in the default folder, and it works OK… so I’ll just leave it there for now…

BTW, it’s the English version…

Glad you’ve solved your problem… feel free to post again if something get wrong or, better, come back and help the others 8)

The strange thing here for me was the syntax of the error.

It said that it could not find file://C:\WinMgmnt\Security\Avast/enhanced.htm.

Note the last "". It switched. Isn’t that strange? Especially since it was telling me that it couldn’t find a file that WAS there!?

I don’t think the slash could cause any problem. The browser (IE) doesn’t really care about slashes or backslashes in the path.

K…

Just trying to figger what was going on…

What is strange is that normally, there should be “English” in the path (like Avast4\English\enhanced.htm). For some reason, it was missing in your install and hence the file was not found… :-\
