Hi all,

Issue : since last Avast update, no way to open the Avast user interface via the tray icon or the desktop icon

Cause : Avast tray icon missing.

During the reboot process the Avast antivirus tray icon is showing up in the task bar but as soon as the reboot is almost done it’s disappearing/vanishing when I try to open the user interface by right clicking on it

With the help of a guy, thanks to him, from the Avast French forum (see “icone absente systray” topic) I’ve tried everything possible to fix the issue including deinstallation via the Avast utility tool and the repair tool and many other checks as well, to no avail…

I’m requesting Avast assistance if possible to fix this issue

  • Which Avast… ? Free
  • Which version…? 20.8.2432 (offline installation)
  • OS…? W7-64
  • Other security related software installed…? Windows Defender (deactivated) since Avast is activated

Thanks for the link provided but AFAIK it’s not the issue I’m talking about : Avast tray icon missing.
