Ensuring ALL traffic goes through the VPN

Some other VPN services have a “kill switch” functionality, which stops all outside network activity if the VPN is disconnected. Does Avast VPN plan to include such a function? Seems essential.

Also, I am not sure if the VPN is active after my Win 10 startup. It seems you need to go in and manually connect the VPN before it is active. Another security hole. Need to ensure no network traffic is going out on startup, and only after the VPN is connected is outside network activity allowed. COuld you please add this to the application? Right now, I have no idea what is going on and i’m considering getting rid of this application due to these issues.

It would be nice if there was a deeper, more advanced control panel.
Appreciate your efforts Avast! What do you think?

Hi ejhnojeahf,

Thanks very much for your feedback. We’ve definitely been thinking about a kill switch functionality as well as some other advanced features. We agree those are important functions to include. As far as the roadmap for launching those features goes, it’s probably still a couple of months away since we are working mainly on cross-platform licensing (another essential). But be sure we do plan this feature and hope to have it sometime in early 2017.

Best regards,

Davidek

Time to go in winter-sleep while we wait for the implementation of the new (requested) functions ;D
