I don’t know when (maybe recently) a new entry appeared in my Control Panel called Envy Audio Deck. I have no clue what it is. Clicking on it produces an error box with text “Error: ReqQueryValueEx”. A search of the disk does not find anything that I could imagine is the executable for this control panel entry. So I thought I’d right-click the entry and create a shortcut hoping that it would provide a pointer to the executable. I got a shortcut created on my desktop but when I right-clicked the shortcut (to get its properties) Avast! blocked the access and moved the shortcut into the virus chest saying it was infected with LNK:Runner. This whole scenario is reproducible.
I tried selecting the Envy Audio Deck item and deleting it but that does nothing. Right clicking the item gives the options of OPEN or Create Shortcut.
Avast! and Malewarebytes Anti-Malware scans come up clean.
I’ve searched this forum but haven’t found anything useful.
I have not done boot time scans. Maybe that would make sense?
Any other info on LNK:Runner and/or Envy Audio Deck?
Thanks,
Larry
I’m running WinXP SP3 and Avast! Free v 7.0.1474 and current definitions.
