I need help with this error. I have ubuntu hardy heron, I installed asvast 4 and can not run that I get this error:

What happens if you uninstall avast and install again?
Or just try to delete the 400.vps file?
reinstall it but kept the same. :-\
it means what it says - the vps file is damaged (check whether it contains “ASWSignd” at the end of the file, and visible build-data at the beginning). avast looks for valid vps at more distinct locations, so let’s make sure that there’s nothing with the 400.vps name, containing some garbage, too.
