Error 53 (The network path was not found) when trying to push client

Hello folks. My company and I are close to switching from Tren to Avast for our network anti-virus protection. We are in the process of doing some tests using the trial version first. Yesterday we brought up a server and installed the ADNM console. We managed to run the discovery task to create our computer catalog, create a basic distribution package, create a deployment task for that package… but the tasks keep failing.

We keep getting “error 53 (The network path was not found)” on the test machine we are trying to push to no matter what we do.

The test machine is running Windows 7,. is a fresh load, and fully updated. Firewall and UAC are disabled.

We are using a domain administrator account for the distribution task.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Is Windows 7 not compatible with client pushes through ADNM? Thanks!

i actually installed netclient on Win7 machines via a create MSI package because i dont want to troubleshoot the pushing of the client to Win7 machines…

did you try with a local administrator account? (just to try)
filesharing should be enabled on the Win7 machine too (at least that was the requirement on xp i read in the manual)
try accessing the win7 machine from your explorer with the \machinename\c$

did you disable ALL firewalls or at least the correct one?
if the machine is joined to the domain then there are 3 different firewalls…

are you testing because you have the NEED to switch right now from trend to avast or can you wait about 2 months more?
news is that in januari the new version of ADNM (called Small Business Console at this moment that we know) is released…
please note that the current ADNM version doesnt support exchange 2010 and sharepoint 2010…
win7 is supported to run on, deployment i havent looked into since i use GPO to deploy the MSI package and im waiting for the SBC release
