Error 80004005 - avast!: Cannot scan the message body

Good day. I’m getting an old error (was fixed with version: 4.7.986 - 2007) as detailed below in Outlook 2003 (11.8217.8202 SP3) after upgrading to SP3 from SP2 (XP Pro).

ERROR MESSAGE:
avast!: Cannot scan the message body
Error Code 80004005
Unspecified error
OpenStreamOnFile failed

Avast version: 4.8.1335

Any help is appreciated.

Any other antivirus in this computer in the past before avast?
Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

???i do not know about these folks, but we cannot get it to uninstall or anything - it just says its not turned on and there is an error and click here but when we click there, nothing happens >:( soooo very frustrated after we bought it and the trail worked but the $50 version we paid for does not work??? we need help but cant find that either

My bad… had a corrupted drive and when fixed avast did it’s thing.
