Error Code 80004005, using Avast 4.7.981, with MS Outlook 2000/MS Exchange

The attached error message comes up every time the users send or receive e-mails through our exchange server/MS Outlook 2000 SP-3, with Windows 98 SE operating system. After the users click on the “OK” button, they are able to send and receive messages, but when one of the users, yesterday evening, tried to send an e-mail, his computer locked-up. I looked at the users permission settings and they look good. In my research on this problem, it said to check the permissions. I made note of all of the version information for Avast 4 Professional, and it is as follows:

		Build Apr2007(4.7.981)
		Xtreme Toolkit version 1.9.7.0
		Using Active Skin version 4.2.73
		VPS File: 4/19/2007
			File version 000734-3
		Registration Key: W8303452R3800F0606
		Updates Expiration: Monday, October, 01, 2007 1:00:00AM

In case you cannot read the attached error, I will also write-out the error message.

Avast!: Cannot scan the message body.
Error code is 80004005

Unspecified error

OpenStreamOnFile failed

I would appreciate your help with this.

Thank you,

P.S. I originally sent this to the e-mail address, support@avast.com, but received no response. Is this not a valid support e-mail address anymore?

The fix is to update to the latest version, 4.7.986.

Thanks
Vlk

That seems to have fixed it.

Thank you,

Landis

Starting yesterday after I received the latest Avast updates I started getting the following error:

Avast!: Cannot scan the message body.
Error code is 80004005
Unspecified error
OpenStreamOnFile failed

I’m running a standard WinXP installation on my home PC. I’m using Avast build 4.7.986 and the VPS file was compiled on 4/26/2007.

Appreciate your help with this.

Thanks…

After shutting down and reopening outlook, everything is copacetic! Thanks…
