Error, Event ID 7011, when I connect external drive

Hi guys:
Whenever I connect my external hard disk drive to my computer, in event viewer is shown:

Error: Service Control Manager [7011] - A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the avast! Antivirus service.
The external drive takes longer than 30 seconds to be recognized. I use Windows XP SP3. I can live with this error, but I would really like to know what causes it and if I can fix it. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, TitoHL !

I also use XP SP3 on my desktop with an externally connected hard drive but I have never experienced this problem.

Perhaps someone else will be able to help you soon.

Thank you very much for your warm welcome.

Is it possible that this error is due to the high obsolescence of my HW?
