This is what I received after a scan: Error in aswChestC: chestAddFileErro…
and it could not be fixed. I have no idea what it means and if it is something that is threatening. Can anyone please enlighten me???

Which is your Windows? 98, Me, XP?
Do you use any other antivirus in your computer?
Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.
If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?
I have Windows XP pro on a laptop. This morning at boot-up it ran check disc and took almost an hour but everything seems to work fine. I put that file in quarantine last night. I shall see what happens next boot-up before I do anything. Thanks for your answer.

This is the one I saw: aswChestC: chestAddFileErro… there was nothing else and I clicked on"quarantine"
Update: everything works fine and no more scan disc. Hope it stays that way.
