I updated Avast to Avast 5 and haven’t been able to get it to work. I get a message (in Spanish) saying ‘error initiating application, parallel configuration not correct. Consult the registry of events of the application for more details’ (Error al iniciar la aplicacion; la configuracion en paralelo no es correcta. Consulte el registro de eventos de la aplicacion para obtener más detalles.)
I’ve tried uninstalling / reinstalling, CCleaner, firewall and everything else I could thing of with no luck.
Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you’ve run it.
Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro.
I went through the whole uninstall process, both in normal and in safe mode, and I keep getting the same problem. When I open outlook I get the Avast popup come up, however, avast isnt running in the toolbar and still wont open.
Fire wall is Windows Firewall in Windows Vista.
