Hi,
Yesterday my Avast! software automatically downloaded and installed an updated version. But today when I start-up my computer again, Avast! won’t start and I get two error messages on Startup:
- Error Starting Program: “The ASHUINT.DLL file is linked to missing export ASHBASE.DLL:_basCreateURL@12”
- Error Starting Program: “The ASHTASK.DLL file is linked to missing export ASHBASE.DLL:_basCreateURL@12”
Can you please advise how to fix this problem?
I use Windows ME.
As I can’t open Avast! I can’t tell you much more, except it’s the Avast! v 4 Home (free) edition.
Thanks,

I would suggest that you try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.

Yep, that seemed to solve the problem.
Many thanks,
