Error occured during scheduled full scan; Can anyone explain this?

Good morning everyone!

In reviewing the results of a scheduled full scan done around 3 a.m. (US Eastern Standard Time) today, the result indicates the following (see the attached screenshot please). Can someone explain just what this means? I have never had this occur prior to today on any Avast scan.

Thank you for your time and any assistance!

Pete C.

some kind of scan error…if you put the mouse pointer on it or expand the columns you should be able to read the hole error message

Morning Pondus!

Here is the entire text of the error message:

"Error: process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file (33).

The above error message is the same for BOTH of the errors shown in my original post screenshot.

Is this of any help?

Pete

well, as it say it could not scan it bc the process was locked or in use by another process…

and froum your picture it seems to be something with outlook…was it open, did it fetch mail at the same time it was scanned ?

anyway it is just a scan error…not infection
so unless this happens often i dont think this is a problem

Thank you for the info, Pondus! This has never happened before and I never use Outlook at all. The only thing different, is that yesterday, I uninstalled Avast! (free) for about an hour and then downloaded and installed it again. I wouldn’t think that would have anything to do with this scan error. though.

I will try doing another full scan in about 20 minutes and see if this error occurs again.

Thanks again!

Pete C.

Just finished doing another full scan, Pondus. Scan results were normal this time. Guess it must be just a random fluke.

Many thanks again!
