Error on ashmaisv.exe

Hi
Since yesterday my colleague has the following error on his Avast Home: Error on AshMaisv.exe and must be stopped (translated from German). Any ideas what could be the reason why?

P.s. My Avast Pro is working without any problem since months, good software!

Please insert the line
Log=20
to file C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast4\Data\avast4.ini under [MailScanner] for detailed logging.
Then send one mail (or retrive mail if incoming mail is the problem), which will generate the log file. After that, post the last lines of the log file C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast4\Data\log\aswMaiSv.log. Thanks.

I’ve reinstalled avast home on my friends pc, then installed the newest version and since then there is no more error. Update and retrieving mails is working fine.
