Error on stsrtup

Free Avast failed on my desktop. I was unable to update free program, so I purchased Pro. I still get this error msg on PC start up and when I try to open program:

Error reading product data from “C:\Program Files\part-setup_ais-fffffff.vpx” Setuo cannot continue.

I am also suddenly unable to access desktop on my home network. Although I can access other pc from the desktop.

Remove avast completely and perform a fresh installation.

The uninstall fails with the same error message.

  1. Download Avast Pro Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Thanks. I managed to uninstall and reinstall. The error message seems to have stopped.
